St. Martin de Porres Primary School

PEEP (Peers in Early Education Partnership) is a regular group facilitated at St Martin’s, which recognises and acknowledges parents as their children’s first educators.

The group provides learning opportunities focusing on:

  • Listening and speaking
  • Stories and early reading
  • Exploring numbers
  • Creative skills
  • Music and rhyme

The children grow in confidence and enjoy having their parents as part of their school life. Each parent and child is given a PEEP diary to record weekly home activities and this is shared with the group,  as part of circle time.

The children are also able to borrow story books and are presented with a “Time To Read” pack from our local library.

PEEP has proved to be very beneficial to the children of our school and is a good start to show them that school and home work together.
